How Sacred Vivah works

This is not a dating site. Nothing you write becomes visible until two devotees who know you — your counselor and the Marriage Board — have reviewed it.

The five stages

1. You write your bio-data

Six sections, around a hundred and fifty questions, and it saves as you type. Most devotees fill it in over several sittings. Nobody but you can see it while it is a draft.

2. Your counselor verifies it

The devotee who knows you confirms what you have written, speaks with your family, and calls the references you gave. If something needs correcting they send it back to you with a note — that is not a refusal, and it is the normal way a bio-data improves. This usually takes five to seven days.

3. The Marriage Board reviews it

The Board reads the whole bio-data, including the confidential section, and decides whether to publish it. They may put it on hold and ask for something first — completing sixteen rounds, or a conversation with your parents.

4. It becomes visible

Once approved, your bio-data is shown to devotees whose stated expectations and yours genuinely align. You see theirs on the same terms.

5. An introduction

When two devotees both express interest, the Marriage Board releases contact details to each of them. Until that moment neither has the other's telephone number or address, whoever they are.
